You can use our Foxit PhantomPDF Standard to override the initial view settings, which can be downloaded from our website for 35 days free trial.

The navigation panel can not be disabled permanently dues to the frame settings.
For page display, please go to Tool->Preferences->History->uncheck "Restore last view settings when reopening", then set the page display mode by going to View->Page displays->choose the mode you need, then this settings will be remembered for all files except the ones having its initial view settings.

I don't know how I can do it wrong. I 'tick' View setting-->navigation-->Show navigation panel.

Are you shure you did it right? At my PC it's saved within the reader.

started a topic FAQ Lock Settings

    Lock Settings

I find it frustrating that my preferred settings seem to be saved to each pdf document rather than the reader itself. This means the navigation bar, page display, etc often change when opening a new document. Is there a way to lock these settings, so 'documents' can't change them?
