Feature How can I save changes permanently in Foxit reader?

After making changes and saving the file, When ever open it again all those changes remain editable. Even when i open it Adobe. I emailed that document and recipient was not only able to click the changes but also able to make their own changes only to areas i edited using Foxit reader. Recipient was using adobe reader.
So I gues what I am asking is if there is way to lock the document or save the changes permanently?

Dear kakaduke,I am sorry that Foxit Reader doesn't have the capability to do what you mentioned.
We suggest you try out our Foxit PhantomPDF application in which you can set document permissions for your PDF file.
Please go to "PROTECT"menu in Foxit PhantomPDF>"Password protect">check option"Add document restriction">input password there>click on"Permission..."button,then you can set document permissions there.
(Eg:If you uncheck the option"modify document" there,then the PDF file will not be allowed to be edited.)

After you edit the PDF, you can "Print" it, but select "Print to PDF" in the Print option dialog window. Then it will save the current state of the PDF in a non-editable PDF image.

jpowers, Thanks for sharing. But please kindly note that we have to check the option "print as image" in the print dialog box if you want to reprint a PDF document into a new image-based file.
