Hi Carrben01,
We got users feedback that: The Citrix Xenapp policy Client printer redirection is set to prohibited and with this set Foxit Reader select the wrong printer.
If changing the policy to allowed, then Foxit Reader select the right printer.
Please give it a try and see if the setting helps.
For helping us further investigate the problem:
1. Is the client default printer or the default printer on server side that cannot be recognized?
2. How the users access/logon to Citrix server?
3. How did you set up the default printer?
4. If possible, please record a small video that shows how the default printer cannot be recognized.

Any news on this we are having the same issue as well, we are using Citrix XenApp V6.5 and have foxit V 6.1.1.1031 running, for some reason when users print it seems to pick a printer at random and does not pickup on what the user has set as their default printer within windows.

Same problem here.
System: Win2008R2 Terminal Server (using RDP, no citrix).
All other application recognize Windows' default printer settings, but Foxit Reader.
We've instaled version 6.0.6.0722.
We kindly ask you to take care of this, as this issue has been reported since last year.

Hey Prutser,
This default printer issue should have been fixed in version 6.0. May I encourage you to update your Foxit Reader to v6.0 and give it a try?

Hiii,
Is there any solution for this problem? I got the same problem as jberinga with almost the same configuration
Foxit reader 5.5.6.218
Windows Server 2008 R2
Xenapp 6.5
Printer are deployed with Res Workspace manager 2012
But even when i am logon as an administrator with RDP instead of ICA and i am connect the printers manually, i am experience this problem.
It seems that always the "first" printer is selected instead of the default.
Ik hope there will be a solution soon.
Thanks.

Hello,
1) What is the configuration environment on your side? A terminal server or Critrix server?
It's a Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit - Citrix XenApp 6.5 Platinum Enviroment
2) How did you set the default printer for user end? Through registry editing or WMI value setting? Please send us more details on it;
The user gets his default printer by a GPO, within a Citrix User Policy
3) If it is Critrix server, please let us know the following info:
a) After the connection between user end and Critrix server, did the user launch Foxit Reader via virtual desktop?
No they do not. They've got it as a Published Application from XenApp 6.5. But usually they start Foxit by opening a PDF from, for example, a website
b) How did the user set his/her default printer? Via registry editor or 'Control Panel'->'Printers and Fax' ?
They get there default printer by the GPO mentioned early
c) Was the printer set by user end been reflected in the server's printer list?
I don't understand this question, but printers they can print to are created for them with the GPO
4) If it is terminal server, please make following two screenshots:
a) On client side, please find the registry: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\W indows\sessiondefaultdevices\S-1-5-5-0-462558 Then make a screenshot of the devices value;
b) On server side, please find the registry: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\W indows And make a screenshot of the devices valueLast edited by jberinga; 07-05-2013, 11:53 AM.

Just for your information: This weekend I've installed Foxit Reader 6.0 Enterprise and it looks like when printing the PDF file the default printer is not the same as set in Windows. This also might be a Windows\Citrix issue but other applications print to the right default printer

Hi ITW-ServiceDesk,
Sorry for the issue. Our developer has debugged this 'default printer not being selected' issue and fixed in Foxit Reader 6.0 which is under beta testing now. Could you please keep an eye out for it and give it a try then? Thank you in advance.

We have the same issue as the posters before on Citrix. Foxit is not using default printer. Instead it uses the last printer in the row.
Further foxit does not remember the last used printer, which would be a workaround for the issue.
