  • Feature need wrap for long bookmarks and override for document view settings!

    Hello all,

I've recently installed foxit reader and set it as my default viewer for pdf files, replacing adobe's bloated crap. I'm am very pleased with the way the software is working and I especially like the open in Fullscreen mode and the fact that you can customize the Fullscreen elements. There are two important settings missing in the configuration menu. The first is the ability to wrap long bookmarks the in the bookmarks panel, I'm having to expand it a lot to read the whole thing which takes space away from the viewing of the document. The second is the ability to tell the reader to ignore the documents' own preferences for viewing and apply your own automatically. For example, I want all my documents to open with "Fit Width" zoom, and "Continuous" page display settings. It would also be nice if the page display settings is available from the context menu inside the document (or keyboard shortcut) and not only on the view menu; since I open in Fullscreen I have to press F11 then click View, Page Display, Continuous. At least with "Fit Width" I can press Ctrl+3.

Thank you for making this fantastic software, it is much appreciated.

The first setting has been in our to-do-list.
The second setting, please try Preferences>Page Display>check the option "Forbid the change of the current zoom...."
The third setting, please try Preferences> Full Screen > check the box "Show Status Bar", this status bar will floating in the bottom of your screen.

      Hi Christina,
I am also interested in point #2. Am using the latest version of foxit reader 5, but there is no longer an option 'forbid the change of current zoom', it is now 'forbid the change of current zoom facotr during execution of 'go to destination' options.

Is there a way of forcing the default zoom when a document is first opened?
      Thanks
      Jon

        Hi Jon,

Sorry, currently there's no way to force the default zoom when open any PDF document. Foxit Reader 5.* will display the PDF document according to its initial view settings first, if it has no initial view settings info, Reader will then disply the document according to the settings under 'Prerences'->'Page Display'.

I've forwarded your request as suggestion to Reader PM team so they would consider to add an option for users to choose to force view according to users' preferrable settings. Suggestion ID#: READER-1114.

Any chance we'll be seeing the wrap option for bookmarks in upcoming builds? It's obviously not the most important feature to focus on but it's enough of a nuisance to be without for me to register an account and inquire about it.

It is related to our whole frame, so it is not easy to change it.Anyway, we report all users feedback about bookmark and hope it will be improved in future.
