  • Feedback Remove "View file in Read Mode" icon

Is there a way to disable the "Read Mode" button whilst browsing a PDF in IE-mode?

Size:	14.1 KB

The basic toolbar only shows the "Print' button (just as I want), but the "Read Mode" button stays active aswell.
I can't seem to find the setting or reg-key to disable it.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hi Netero,

Currently there's no way to disable the 'Read Mode' icon in Reader. Could you please let us know the reason that you want to remove it so I could forward your request as suggestion to PM team for processing?

Thank you for your quick response.

I need it as a security reason.

We have a touchscreen based system on which we have an intranet that runs in an application.
The users aren't allowed to acces the underlaying windows environment.

The users need to be able to print PDF files, so we need the print-button.
In read-mode, you have the print-button but also the "save" button, this opens the windows layer and allows for deletion of files.

So I either need to disable that, or disable the "save" button.
Any of the two will do.
